The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

Third Edition of the Indian Military Heritage Festival (IMHF)(14-15 Nov)

The Indian Military Heritage Festival (IMHF) is a flagship initiative that embodies this mission. Over the last editions, it has grown into a nationally recognised platform for dialogue on history, strategy, and contemporary security. It has also become a platform for the launch of significant military publications and research, enriching the intellectual fabric of our armed forces and the nation as a whole. This year, the third edition of IMHF is being organised on 14-15 November 2025.
