The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

Military Museum Curators Course

The Annual Military Museum Curators’ Course is being conducted at USI Annually since Oct 2019 .It aims to acquaint curators and officers dealing with military heritage, with best practices in the field in order to enhance their displays, preserve their artefacts and devise educational and outreach programmes to optimise the impact of the museum in their charge. The course is the first among the list of activities planned under the British-Indian Military Heritage partnership signed between USI and NAM. Following are the details of number of participants who have attended the course.

Duration: Course is designed for a period of 4 working days and is an annual event.
