The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

COMBINED OPERATIONAL REVIEW AND EVALUATION (CORE) PROGRAMME

United Service Institution of India (USI) organised a Combined Operational Review and Evaluation (CORE) Programme for senior policy makers from the three Armed Services, on the theme of Jointmanship, Integration & Theaterisation from 25-29 April 2022.

The programme focused on six panel discussions which brought key contemporary geopolitical issues to the fore for the syndicates attending. First session dealt with “Theaterisation: Challenges & Way Ahead”, the second session was on “Non-Kinetic Warfare: Prospects & Possibilities”, the third panel discussion proceeded on “Changing Nature of Warfare”, the fourth session was geared towards “Dynamics of Indo-Pacific Region: Contestation, Competition & Cooperation”, the fifth delved into the “Common Pitfalls in Defence Acquisitions & Remedies” and the last session entailed a fruitful discussion on “Strategic Communication”. The CORE programme successfully undertook a comprehensive assessment of the various Indian strategic trends and concerns.
