The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

Seminar on the Battle of Hajipir (1965) and the Tangail Airborne/Link up operations (1971)

The United Service Institution of India is conducting a seminar on the Battle of Hajipir (1965) and the Tangail Airborne/Link up operations (1971) on Friday, 24 Nov 2023 at the USI Auditorium from 1045 to 1550 Hrs.

 

The Battle of Hajipir and Tangail Airborne ops were the turning points in the military campaigns of 1965 and 1971, respectively.  The presentations will be made by the veterans who took part in the Ops, enabling them to share their first-hand experiences with the attendees.
