The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

PROJECT STUDY ON THE WAR-WAGING POTENTIAL OF CHINA - 2025

The study assessed the ‘war waging potential of China in a time envelope up to 2025, which included relevant attributes of China’s Comprehensive National Power (CNP). The study began with an appraisal of the contextual strategic environment and articulates China’s core interests and strategic objectives. The emphasis is on China’s strategic culture, economy, defence spending, and doctrinal trends. Finally, the focus shifted towards the modernisation of the Second Artillery Corps (SAC), PLA (Ground Forces), Aerospace Power and the PLA (Navy). Finally scenarios were played and strategic options and recommendations were given.
