The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’
USI Centre for Emerging Technologies for Atma Nirbhar Bharat (USI-CETANB) has made path-breaking efforts in furthering the objectives of self-reliance in defence. CETANB-USI has been actively engaged in promoting defence innovation through engagements with Start-ups and MSME mentoring them to navigate the defence acquisition ecosystems. Through policy dialogues, capability mapping, and collaborative platforms, CETANB-USI continues to support indigenous solutions that align with national security imperatives. USI-CETANB is offering internships in the field of emerging technologies like AI, Quantum Technology, Smart materials, Manned- UnManned Teaming (MUMT) of platforms and other disruptive technologies and their applications in defence. Candidate completing the internship program will receive a certificate of participation.
The key features of CETANB-USI internship are:-
· Participation in live projects and events conducted by CETANB.
· Engagement with MSMEs and startups.
· Generation of content on the relevant Medium.
Eligibility
· Graduate / Post Graduate Students pursuing Engineering / Defence Studies/ Computer science/ Web Development/ AI and related subjects.
· Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Powerpoint, excel etc.) and Multimedia content generation.
· Candidates willing to participate in the following fields will be preferred:-
o Cyber security and cyber hygiene.
o Artificial Intelligence and its applications relevant to CETANB Objectives.
o Niche Technology/ disruptive technologies and their applications relevant to MSMEs.
o Risk Assessment for business models.
o Creation of digital models for defence acquisition.
o Creation of multimedia projects for CETANB objectives.
