The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

On 03 June 2025, the Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation (CS3) at the United Service Institution of India organised the final presentation of Col Amit Kumar Sharma, Senior Research Fellow on the topic “Effectiveness of Information Warfare by Leveraging Cyber and Media: An Imperative in the Conflict Continuum”

The presentation began with welcome remarks by Maj Gen RS Yadav, VSM, (Retd), Director, CS3. Maj Gen SP Vishwasrao, SM**, conveyed the external discussant remarks while Maj Gen RS Yadav, VSM(Retd), Director, CS3, USI delivered the guide remarks followed up by a Q&A session. The event was concluded with closing remarks by Maj Gen RS Yadav, VSM (Retd), Director, CS3, USI.
 

 

 

On 04 June 2025, the Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation (CS3) at the United Service Institution of India hosted the final scholar presentation by Col Maneesh Parthsarthy, VSM, Senior Research Fellow, on the topic “Emerging Disruptive Technologies and Their Impact on the Future Battlefield.”

The session commenced with welcome remarks by Maj Gen RS Yadav, VSM (Retd), Director, CS3. Lt Gen (Dr) Ravindra Singh Panwar, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd) offered the Guide’s Remarks, followed by External Discussant remarks from Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM ** (Retd), DG, USI. An engaging Q&A session with participants followed, and the event concluded with closing remarks by Maj Gen RS Yadav, VSM (Retd), Director, CS3.

Maj Gen Girish Kalia, AVSM, VSM, conveyed the Guide’s remarks while Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), DG, USI delivered the External Disscussant’s remarks followed up by a Q&A session. The event was concluded with closing remarks by Maj Gen RS Yadav, VSM (Retd), Director, CS3, USI. The event was also attended by representatives of Service Headquarters.
