The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

Panel Discussion: Mitigation of Risks in AI-Enabled Military Systems

A panel discussion was conducted on “ Mitigation of Risks in AI Enabled Military Systems” at USI of India. The discussants were part of a five-member team of international experts, functioning under the aegis of INHR, which is a non-profit organization based in Geneva, dedicated to improving access to the United Nations. The team of experts was as under:-

The team of experts has been steering a Track-II dialogue on military AI amongst a larger group of international experts from the S  USA, China, Europe, Russia, and India over the last two years.   They also have presented their views during the REAIM Summit 2023. Which was co-hosted by the Dutch and  Korean govt in Hague.

Maj Gen (Dr) Pawan Anand, AVSM (Retd) conducted a breakout session at the international summit on Responsible AI in Military Domain in South  Korea on 9-10 Sep 2024. 

Cyber Centre of Excellence was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Rajya Raksha Mantri Sh Sanjay Seth on 14 Aug 2024 in the presence of dignitaries like DG NIELIT and Chairperson NCW and others.
