The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

ESIWA Seminar on Women, Peace & Security

Enhancing Security Cooperation in and with Asia (ESIWA), organised a seminar on ‘Women, Peace and Security in Peacekeeping Operations’ at USI. The delegation from European Union Member States, namely, Ambassador of Latvia to India, H.E. Mr Juris Bone; Ambassador of Lithuania to India, H.E. Ms Diana Mickevičienė; Deputy Head of Mission in Embassy of Ireland to India, Ms Elaine Kennedy; First Counsellor, Head of Political Affairs of EU to India, Mr Christophe Manet and well-recognised individuals from various universities, think tanks and international organisations participated in the seminar.
