The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

The signing of MOU between USI & PF, Sri Lanka

The United Service Institution (USI) of India, New Delhi and Pathfinder Foundation (PF), Sri Lanka, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 23 August 2022. The objective of the MoU is to strengthen existing friendly relations through closer cooperation and contributing to policy development, among other areas.

 

The areas of cooperation include working closely with diplomatic missions in India and Sri Lanka, producing joint research work in the form of books/monographs/essays and promoting other forms of cooperation in the field of international security, diplomacy and conflict studies. Under the realm of this MoU, USI and PF jointly agreed to implement these objectives and maximise the benefits of such initiatives.
