The United Service Institution of India was founded in 1870 by a soldier scholar, Colonel (later Major General) Sir Charles MacGregor. The story of its growth is the story of the growth of the Indian Armed Forces. It was founded for ‘furtherance of interest and knowledge in the art, science and literature of the Defence Services.’

Ex KOOTNEETI 2023

Exercise KOOTNEETI, an annual event designed by the USI for the Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow, was conducted from 15 to 17 Nov 2023. As different from the earlier practice of it being a Net Assessment exercise, this year it was changed and upgraded to a scenario-based Strategic Gaming exercise to make it more relevant to national security perspective.
