The Indian Military Heritage Festival (IMHF)

The Indian Military Heritage Festival (IMHF), the annual flagship event of USI-CMHCS, plays a vital role in increasing awareness of India’s military history and issues of national security. This two-day event seamlessly weaves historical discussions with contemporary concerns and future visions, creating a dynamic platform for engagement. Designed to set a new benchmark for public interaction with military history and heritage, the Festival features interactive sessions and meaningful dialogues that align with the objective of strengthening and modernising the Armed Forces for the 21st century.

By renewing and revitalising interest in cultural traditions associated with the Armed Forces, the Festival not only honours the past but also addresses pressing global and national security challenges. Through insightful discussions, it fosters a deeper understanding of key issues, bridging the gap between historical perspectives and present-day realities.

Military History and Heritage

India's military history and heritage are extensive and diverse, spanning epochs of warfare and valour. From the ancient battles recounted in epics like the Mahabharata to the empires of the Mughals and Marathas, India's past is deeply intertwined with its military achievements. Highlighting this history is vital as it honours the sacrifices of soldiers, imparts invaluable lessons from past conflicts, and helps shape national identity and pride. India's military heritage stands as a testament to its resilience and adaptability, serving as a source of inspiration for generations to come. Preserving this legacy is not just about honouring the past; it is about guiding the future with lessons learned from history. The Indian Military Heritage Festival aims to explore and showcase this rich legacy to the world.

Security, Strategy & Geopolitics

The IMHF is a major rendezvous for the entire military ecosystem. It provides a platform for discussions on a host of contemporary issues relating to India and the world in a vertical dealing with Security, Strategy and International Relations.

Specially curated sessions are conducted for the services and strategic industry partners to debate and reflect on the existing and evolving technologies.
